Physics World published an article on open-access publications in academia and the new SciNotes journal featuring interviews with Dr. Peer (Executive Editorial Board member) and collaborator Dr. Grubert (Editorial Board member).
Dr Peer. delivered a keynote talk the 3rd Water-Energy-Food Nexus Workshop, hosted by the Public University of Navarre's Institute for Innovation and Sustainable Development in the Food Chain (ISFOOD) and the Institute for Advanced Research in Business and Economics (INARBE).
Dr Peer. was recruited to serve on the first Executive Editorial Board of the Institute of Physics (IOP) Publishing's new journal SciNotes.
New PhD Student Karan Titus joins the team, co-supervised by Dr. Dempsey (University of Canterbury). Karan will be working on assessing the feasibility of carbon-negative geothermal energy in New Zealand.
Dr Peer. and collaborator Dr. Chini (Air Force Institute of Technology) published paper in Environmental Research: Infrastructure and Sustainability analysing the water and carbon footprint of global electricity over the past 30 years.
Dr Peer. and collaborator Dr. Chini (Air Force Institute of Technology) published a methodology paper in Scientific Data with a describing the creation of their global water footprint for electricity database.
A collaborative paper led by Dr. Henry (RTI International) with partners at the Carnegie Institution for Science, University of Canterbury, Columbia University, North Carolina State University, the Environmental Defense Fund, and the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy investigated the replicability of capacity expansion models via a community benchmarking exercise across four models.
Our recently published forum in the Journal of Infrastructure Systems on the role of civil systems engineers in society has been chosen by the chief editor to be featured in the Editor's Choice slection.
Dr Peer. and collaborator Dr. Chini (Air Force Institute of Technology) published a research paper in Environmental Research Letters with an integrated account of the water embedded in our global energy trade network.
Dr. Peer and colleague Dr. Logan (University of Canterbury) published a forum in the Journal of Infrastructure Systems discussing the role of civil systems engineers in today's and tomorrow's complex challenges.
Dr. Peer officially joins the faculty in the Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering at the University of Canterbury as a Lecturer in Civil Systems Engineering.
